Grenades come in many sizes and shapes on the battlefield. From your standard palm sized grenade all the way to the RPG's (rocket propelled grenades). Some serve different uses such as blinding the enemy while other help conceal you from the enemy. This section of the site will be dedicated to the different types of grenades used on the battlefield.
To see how to best throw a grenade Click here! Since 1.2 patch grenades can be throw great distance without jump. You can now throw a grenade without jumping up to 45m. If you jump and throw you can reach about 10m further to a range of up to 55m. Remember to jump and throw you must first throw the grenade then jump before you release it.
Standard grenade: Most kits have four grenades. Grenades have a 4 second fuse. You can throw them farthest by throwing them as you jump. This will chuck them a good distance enabling you to reach the enemy where other weapons cant. They have no real effect on armor but you can destroy transport vehicles. The image below shows the effects of a grenade on infantry:
Flash bang Grenades: 3 flash bangs are now provided with the assault kit.
Smoke grenades: Coming soon
RPG: Coming soon
Grenade Launcher: (noob tube) The grenade launcher aka the noob tube has been one of the games biggest complaints. Before the patch you could easily shot at the ground and jump killing your victim and leaving you with very little damage if any.
Since the 1.2 patch was release you can now shoot at the ground and there is about a one second delay. Still in our opinion not enough to defeat the noob tubers completely. If you shot it at a wall it will bounce off now if you hit the wall before 15m distance. After 15m it blows up on contact. The main use it should be used for is against transports or infantry at a distance. The damage level against armor is still too low to consider using. It takes around 1 point of health from a tank unless you hit it on the front tracks the it can take up to 4 out of 20. Still not very effective. APCs however can be kill with 4 or 5 grenade launcher hits. The kill zone is still about the same (2-3m) but the blast radius has been reduce some. So you need a pretty spot on hit to kill infantry.
